What Asana gets right
Asana is genuinely excellent at cross-functional structure — goals rolling up to portfolios, workload across teams, the cleanest task model in the category. Big organizations run on it for good reasons.
The honest take
The ladder is the problem, not the product. Workload, time tracking and portfolios all live on Advanced, so the tier that actually matches a modern feature baseline is $24.99 a seat, and full SAML is still an Enterprise quote above that. The free Personal plan was cut to a hard two-user cap for accounts created on or after 12 November 2025. And Asana wrote the canonical trust-break: in 2018 free Dashboards were moved into paid-only Portfolios with under two months' notice, roughly doubling what affected teams paid.

Is there a flat-priced Asana alternative?+
Sahnga is flat where it counts — the seat, not the total: $5 for each person who creates or edits, one maker free, and that rate never climbs a tier at 10 people or 1,000. The total isn't one fixed number; it's your maker count times $5 and nothing else — no minimums, no rungs, no add-ons, and viewers, commenters, guests and clients never count. There are no tiers to climb: unmetered automations, timeline and dependencies, time tracking, full history, the API and one-click export are in every plan, including Free.
How much does Asana cost for a team of 10?+
Ten people on Sahnga is $45 a month — $5 each with the first maker free, and unlimited viewers, guests and clients on top at no charge. Matching that feature-for-feature on Asana means Advanced, which comes to about $249.90 a month for ten at their best published rate. And it's a floor, not a quote: SSO is only sold through a sales call, so the real number is higher.

Does Asana charge for guests?+
Guests from outside your email domain are free on paid plans, which is fair. The catch is upstream: the free Personal plan now caps the entire workspace at two people for new accounts, so small teams reach a paid plan sooner than they used to. Sahnga's viewers, commenters, guests and clients are unlimited and never billed.
Why do teams leave Asana?+
Two reasons come up over and over. The first is the tier ladder — discovering that workload or time tracking means the $24.99 plan, not the $10.99 one. The second is notification volume; Asana's own community forum carries the famous report of one user receiving 47 separate emails for 47 photo uploads. Sahnga defaults to digests, and the price doesn't change when your needs do.
