What Jira gets right
Jira's Marketplace depth and compliance track record are real, and for a large engineering org with dedicated admins there is nothing else with that much rope. Atlassian earned that position.
The honest take
The pricing shape hurts more than the sticker. Premium is a whole-org upgrade: five people needing one Premium feature means all three hundred pay Premium. SSO is Atlassian Guard on top, about $4 a user a month, unless you're on Cloud Enterprise. Free stops at 10 users, 2GB and 100 automation runs a month, with no audit log at all. Prices went up again in October 2025 — about 5% on Standard and 7.5% on Premium — and Rovo's AI runs on credits that work out to only a handful of deep-research queries per person per month on Premium. Then there's the tax nobody prices: the consultants required to keep it configured.
The bill, in plain words

Sahnga's arithmetic never changes: $5 a month for every maker after the first — the same rate at 10 people, at 200, at 1,000, with no tier to climb and no Enterprise number to negotiate. Jira bills per seat the whole way up too — the difference is what the seat includes, and who never counts. Viewers, commenters, guests and clients are free on our side at any size.
The switch
Why teams switch from Jira to Sahnga
Built for humans, not machines: a calm triage inbox and digest-first notifications instead of an inbox that drowns you.
$5 a person — and no whole-org upgrade, because there is no tier above the one you're on.
Leave anytime with a full one-click export. That's a trust feature, and it's why you'll stay.
Moving your work off Jira
Jira exports issues to CSV from any filter view, and Sahnga imports CSV — summary, description, assignee, due date, status and comments come across as tasks in projects. Most teams bring one project over, work in it for a week, and then move the rest.

Questions
Sahnga vs Jira FAQ
Is there a flat-priced Jira alternative?+
Sahnga is flat where it counts — the seat, not the total: $5 for each person who creates or edits, one maker free, and that rate never climbs a tier at 10 people or 1,000. The total isn't one fixed number; it's your maker count times $5 and nothing else — no minimums, no rungs, no add-ons, and viewers, commenters, guests and clients never count. There are no tiers to climb: unmetered automations, timeline and dependencies, time tracking, full history, the API and one-click export are in every plan, including Free.
How much does Jira cost for a team of 10?+
Ten people on Sahnga is $45 a month — $5 each with the first maker free, and unlimited viewers, guests and clients on top at no charge. Matching that feature-for-feature on Jira means Premium plus Atlassian Guard Standard, which comes to about $185.40 a month for ten at their best published rate.
Does Sahnga import from Jira?+
Jira exports issues to CSV from any filter view, and Sahnga imports CSV — summary, description, assignee, due date, status and comments come across as tasks in projects. Most teams bring one project over, work in it for a week, and then move the rest.
Does Jira charge extra for SSO?+
Yes. SAML SSO comes from Atlassian Guard, a separate subscription at roughly $4 per user per month, unless you're already on Cloud Enterprise. When SAML and SSO land, they're on every plan — Free included — at no extra cost. We will never charge you for logging in securely. CISA has said SSO belongs in base offerings, and we agree.
Does Jira charge for guests?+
Jira Software has no free guest role — people who need access take a license, so contractors and clients land on your bill. Sahnga's viewers, commenters, guests and clients are unlimited and never count.
Why is Jira so expensive for small teams?+
Because the cost isn't only the seat. Premium is a whole-org upgrade, SSO is a second subscription, Free caps at 10 users with no audit log, and configuration usually means somebody's time or an outside consultant. Sahnga is one price, one plan, and everything on from day one.
Bring your team over in an afternoon.
$5 a person, every feature on every plan, and a full export whenever you want it. Jira stays exportable too — you lose nothing by trying.
